Three Tips to Use to Have a Great Off-Campus Living Experience

If you have been in college for a year or two, it’s probably time for you to move off of campus. The dorms are a great jumping-off point for getting away from home, but they don’t provide the kind of privacy you are going to want in a living situation long-term. Plus, the dorms can be gross. Before you move into OU off-campus student housing, consider these three tips to make the next school year as positive of an experience as possible.

  1. Roommates – Many people think the apartment itself is the most important factor when it comes to how much you enjoy living in OU off-campus housing. This isn’t true. More important than where you live is who you live with. Make sure you carefully consider the personality and style of each person you are living with before you move in with them.
  2. Stay Within Your Budget – Don’t stretch your budget on a monthly expense because you love the place. The last thing you want to do is pay too much money on a bill that you have to pay once a month. It’s only a matter of time before you don’t have enough to make rent.
  3. Distance – A long commute will kill you financially on gas costs. It will also take up valuable time you could use to socialize or study. Make sure your OU off-campus student housing is close to your classes.

Follow these three tips to make sure you have a good experience your first time living in an apartment. You can find great apartments at Redpoint Norman. Learn more about what they have to offer on their website at https://redpoint-norman.com.
