What are your favorite summer camp activities? Maybe you have memories of your own days as a camper, or perhaps your kids have a list of their own favorite activities, but the chances are high that there are some things you just associate with being at a summer camp. Whether telling ghost stories by the fire at a sleepover camp or participating in camps focused on a particular beloved activity, camp activities build memories and friendships that last well into adulthood.
At Black Bear Lake in New Jersey, we focus on creating the quintessential summer camp experience, by offering a wide variety of summer camp activities for all of our campers. We have 47 electives for our campers, which allows each individual camper to personally tailor their summer camp experience. Chess, swim lessons, flag football, volleyball, and performing arts are just some of our popular electives. These electives can change weekly or remain the same for the summer. Furthermore, all campers have access to the same non-elective fun activities including a lake-based waterpark, trampolines, ad a camper village.
Why does Black Bear Lake offer such a wide variety of activities for its campers? We believe that summer should be fun. The power of play is critical for child development but is often overlooked during the traditional school year. At our summer camp, kids get to direct their own activities, exploring their interests, while still getting the opportunity for pure play.
Campers are not limited to outdoor activities. In addition to plenty of pools and lake activities to beat the heat, we also offer an indoor gymnastics facility. Our older campers even have the opportunity to take field trips three times a week to places ranging from Broadway shows to Dave and Busters!
