Online or At-Line
Many rheometers are offered as either the online or the at-line option. In general, online rheometers are able to provide continuous types of process control and data recording. The at-line rheometry allows for selective sample testing as required by the company.
There are benefits to both options in rheology testing, but there are considerations with both. The online model provides continual testing but lacks the ability to test an individual sample. The at-line model is limited to testing only when technicians are present.
An option worth considering for many production or testing facilities is a rheometer that can be operated both in the online and at-line mode. These testing devices offer the quality of testing precision required with the versatility to work as needed for different testing requirements.
