A fiber laser tube cutting machine has applications in almost any manufacturing business that uses metal tubes. Whether you need holes cut in the tube for hardware or just want to engrave your logo on a part, these machines can do it.
How Laser Tube Cutting Machines Work
The first step is to load the uncut tubes into the machine. Some machines are fully automated and do this part for you. They can work with round tubes, square tubes, elliptical tubes, and virtually any other available shape.
The tube is held by a moving clamping device. This device and the laser move in computerized synchronization so the laser can cut in precisely the right spot.
The laser is directed by computer to cut out the desired shapes. It can cut simple holes for a bolt or complex, irregularly shaped holes. Once the laser has finished cutting all the holes that are needed on that length of pipe, it cuts it off at the desired point. You can specify straight cuts or any complex end profile you need.
The completed section of pipe drops down onto a conveyor. The clamping device then advances the raw length of pipe forward to give the laser access to a new section. It continues to feed this one length of pipe through until the maximum number of finished pieces have been cut from it.
Industries That Use Laser Cutting Machines
A fiber laser tube cutting machine is primarily used to cut stainless and carbon steel and aluminum. These tubes are used for familiar items like fitness equipment. They’re also found in many types of medical equipment and furniture. Laser cut tubes are used as components for a huge variety of structures and heavy manufactured goods. They certainly do their part to make business flow much easier for certain industries.
