Teeth and a smile are two things about a person that others notice first. Those who have crooked teeth often tend to be negative when it comes to their own self-image and level of confidence. In 1998 the USFDA approved Invisalign®, it is rapidly becoming the preferred solution for attaining straighter teeth which of course lead to a much more confident smile. Sacramento Invisalign® is an affordable alternative to conventional metal braces but they offer the patient a certain sense of privacy and confidence while their teeth are slowly being realigned and straightened without the wires.

What is Invisalign®?
Sacramento Invisalign® is quite simple really, the product consists of a series of transparent aligners which fit over the teeth. Over time these different aligners will straighten and align the teeth without the need for any unsightly metal brackets, wires or head gear. The dentist uses extremely sophisticated state-of-the-art digital equipment to render a full three dimensional image of the patients teeth, the program tells the dentist how many stages it will take to restore the patients teeth to their proper position. A series of aligners are produced, every two weeks the patient is given a new set. Each aligner is a little different to the one it replaces, over time, little by little the aligners move the teeth into the ideal position. Those that elect to go the Invisalign® route can wear them all day without fear that they will be noticed. A wonderful feature of Invisalign®, not one available with conventional braces is the fact that they can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing.

Who can use Invisalign®?
Aligners from Sacramento Invisalign® can be used by anyone with crooked and misaligned teeth. Young children, teenagers, adults as well as the elderly can use Invisalign® as the solution to any dental  deformities they have.

How long does it take?
The length of time to complete the program very much depends on the patient but on average the entire process will take between 12 and 18 months. During this time the patient will be given a series of different clear aligners which will be used before the teeth have reached their ideal position.

Invisalign® is becoming the preferred approach to orthodontics as they are not noticeable, hence they do not draw attention to the teeth as traditional metal braces do. Unlike braces, there is no pain involved. If you are unhappy with your teeth speak with your Sacramento Invisalign® dentist to find out how using Invisalign® can improve your smile and self confidence.
