* Mild soap and water or detergent and water
* Dry, soft cloth
Take the soft cloth and dampen it with the mild soap or detergent and water solution. Wipe the laminate surface working with the grain using a straight-line motion. Dry it immediately using the dry, soft cloth. Work with the grain to avoid any streaking.
Yet, cleaning laminate office furniture is more than washing them off. They will require a simple dusting to keep the dust bunnies at bay. While waxing is not permitted, you could apply a non-oily furniture spray. Do not, however, allow the build-up of layer upon layer of furniture spray as it will destroy the gloss of the surface and can result in other issues.
Removing Stains from Office Laminate Furniture
Stains can mar laminate office furniture. Common ones that happen in an office environment are the result of coffee or tea spills. Use a mild soap or detergent, and water solution. In this case, you can also employ a brush with very soft bristles. If, however, the stain is stubborn, consider using a combination of baking soda and water with the same type of brush. Do not scrub but stroke lightly since the solution is slightly abrasive and you do not want to destroy the desk or other piece of furniture’s appearance. It may take up to 20 minutes to remove the stain, but the time is well worth spending to restore the surface.
If the stain resists such measure, some recommend treatment with household bleach. This is purely a last resort measure and one left to the experts. If left on too long, or improperly rinsed off, the bleach can cause damage. Bleach will cause discoloration if it remains on the laminate surface for more than 2 minutes.
