LED LUMINAIRE SERIES: LED LUMINAIRE APPLICATIONS

by | Jul 31, 2015 | Business

When deciding whether to install LED luminaires vs. fluorescents and weighing the return on investment, the application in which the lighting will be used is a primary consideration for 50,000-hour LED lamps. In general, lamp longevity means less supply costs in replacement lamps and ballasts. Maintenance should be considered as well. Hard-to-reach, high-bay environments such as warehouses and gymnasiums make commercial LED lights more attractive because it will reduce maintenance costs. It also mitigates risk associated with the use of ladders and other equipment required for reaching luminaires. These advantages also apply to outdoor fixtures installed in parking garages and high places, exposing maintenance personnel to inclement weather conditions.

Vapor-tight LED luminaires that provide wet-location protection are also ideal for livestock buildings, where additional personnel must contain the animals so lamps can be replaced. Other applications for these LED luminaires are commercial kitchens, food processing facilities, refrigerators and freezers, laundries, locker rooms, saunas and more.

Even light distribution, no-glare illumination, and a color-rendering index of 80-plus create office environments that enable productivity.
