About Aluminum Round Bar
Aluminum round bar tends to be made from the 6061 alloy of aluminum in the T6511 temper. It has a density of .098 and the normal length for aluminum round stock of this kind is 12 feet. It can be cut by an extrusion saw to a tolerance as close as .005, up to an 8 inch diameter and up to a four to one diameter to length ratio. With a band saw, aluminum rounds can be cut to tolerances of +.030 with a diameter up to 16 inches.
Acc-U-Rod
Acc-U-Rod sets the standard for quality and economy in extruded aluminum rods. It has a straightness of .00625 inches per foot and tolerances that are half or better than the tolerances required by the Aluminum Association. This type of rod can be made from the 6061, 6082, 6262 or 6042 alloys of aluminum. It has consistent and dependable uniformity and a nice finish with excellent stability and corrosion resistance.
Kaiser’s Select Precision Rod
This precision rod is made from Aluminum 6061 and it is available in sizes up to three inches in diameter. It is designed to meet the requirements of automatic machining with close dimensional tolerances (up to 2/3 better than commercial extruded rods), increased straightness and an improved surface finish. It is designed to have less burrs and small chips when being machined, and to reduce machining time and tool wear. The end result is less expense in machining. This precision rod has increased strength and hardness with a more consistent material size.
